While I was not totally convinced that the end results of good swings were much different than the r7 425, off center hits definitely seemed to hold the line better. I have a 6 handicap and decent swing speed but I have had trouble finding a 45 inch shaft with the right combination of torque and stiffness. I'll have to go try out one of the Fit-On Red shafts! This is a keeper. The open face on the Tour version combined with the shallower profile allowed me to work the ball, while the elongated non-Tour version did quite well at keeping my drives straight. Any help I can get is tremendous. In my group one guy gets 50 yards more. Incredible. This club might up your shot trajectory a little bit and keep with the same loft.
Was this review helpful? It's added another 30 or 40 yards onto my sweetest drives, and i never missed a fairway all day. With-out a doubt the XL is longer than the old Hi-Bore and I notice that Cleveland have just released the XLS to boot! I was outhitting my playing partners by yards when usually they were outhiting me.
Back to the XL, and after a few shots started to hit high straight balls into a head wind from the left. I had been pushing my drives to the right ever since I sold my Launcher 330 four years ago. Feels and sounds great and the sweet spot is so big that it has given me the confidence to go for shots I would not have gone for before.
